BeBe Zahara Benet Gets “Heavy” On Her New Single

The Minneapolis-based winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Season 1 has just released a new single, “Heavy,” coming soon to her streaming and download platforms. The new track follows her two releases from last year: “Waiting” and “Smoke Signals.” Those two tracks were follow ups on her more popular tracks, “Banjo” and “Body on Me.”

This is BeBe’s fifteenth single, marking a departure from her signature Afrobeat sound. BeBe’s fifteenth single marks a sonic departure from her Afrobeat roots. “Heavy” showcases her natural flow and wit with an “uncanny ability to brag with charm.”

“Heavy” is written by BeBe, along with her producer Ben Obi, and creative collaborators Taylor Hamilton and Diego Wyatt. The track has been released by Producer Entertainment Group/Warner Brothers/Savannah Street. The music video for the new single is out on YouTube, directed by Assaad Yacoub, who worked with BeBe before on her previous videos of “Jungle Kitty” and “Banjo.”
