Town House Hosts Benefit for the Legendary Ti-Néa

Following on a successful fund-raiser on January 31 at Camp, the Town House is hosting another benefit for the incomparable icon on “Ti-Néa Day,” March 28, 6-10 PM. Sponsored by the friends of Ti-Néa, it offers a cornucopia of activities, including entertainment, drawings, and silent auctions. Town House owner Holly Monnett generously is donating 10 percent of bar sales during the evening to the benefit.
This “Ex-drag-a-ganza,” emceed by Mary Brewster, features a who’s who of local performers, including Anastasia, Barbara Gordon, Cee Cee Russell, Dramatica, Esmé Rodríguez, Glori Halleluluh, Lady Katie, Lady Victoria, Loring Mitchell, Mia Dorr, and other special guests.
Terrell Hunter, aka Ti-Néa, is perhaps the most beloved female impersonator in the Twin Cities and surrounding region. Her unique talent of singing live, as well as lip synching like other performers, puts her in a class all of her own.
Among a bevy of other venues, she has been a headliner at Pride festivals in the Twin Cities, Duluth-Superior, and Rochester year after year.
Whenever the call for help went out, Ti-Néa always was one of the first to throw her wig on, and come to the rescue. Unfortunately, having experienced major health challenges since the end of 2008—the cost of which is staggering—she now needs help herself.
Show your support for this deserving diva on the evening of “Ti-Néa Day.” If you can’t attend, send a check, payable to “Triangle of Hope,” c/o The Town House, 1415 University Avenue West, St. Paul, MN 55104.
