Szachowicz, MD

Despite working as a patient consultant in Dr. Edward Szachowicz’s office for several years, Sharon Miller can empathize fully with prospective clients who are trying to decide on the best treatment and doctor for them.
Miller says, “There’s so much new technology out there now and new offerings, and sometimes, it just may be the same technology with different manufacturers. And as to being able to sort through that, and being able to determine what would be valuable for you, and find the most appropriate procedure for what your concerns are, I think that’s frustrating.”
Accordingly, to make sure no patients at their office get caught up in the confusion and media hype, the staff’s top priority is achieving a great outcome for patients with an appropriate treatment plan—not just making a dollar by selling unnecessary services.
Treatment options are many, as Szachowicz specializes in facial plastic surgery. Patients can choose more invasive options such as face and brow lifts, to name a few, or nonsurgical procedures like Botox, Lipodissolve, Restylane, and laser treatments.
The office employs a medical laser as opposed to a cosmetic laser for enhanced results. Dr. Szachowicz is a trainer and educator for many of the injectables, so his patients are in the best possible hands.
“A lot of offices can purchase the products, of course, but they can’t purchase the technique or the quality of the injector. It’s all about the person behind the needle,” Miller explains.
To help clients make an informed decision on the best option for them, a complimentary consultation usually will include computer imaging to show potential results.
Miller understands cosmetic procedures aren’t right for everyone, and recommends doing research before setting up appointments. However, neither she nor Szachowicz would trivialize what their office does for people.
Dr. Szachowicz states, “When people look good, they feel good, and when they feel good, it reflects in their self-esteem and how they perceive themselves in the world.”
To ensure his patients are happy with their results in the long term, Dr. Szachowicz also offers posttreatment support such as ultrasound and light therapy to accelerate tissue repair and reduce inflammation, as well as Fraxel laser resurfacing to minimize any incision scars.
