Twin Cities GLBT Oral History Project Debuts Queer Twin Cities

On October 22, at the West Bank Social Center in Minneapolis, the Twin Cities GLBT Oral History Project hosted a reception to debut its new book, Queer Twin Cities. Published by the University of Minnesota Press, it’s a collection of essays on Minnesota’s vibrant queer communities, past and present.

Scully Celebrates Quarter-Century of Being HIV-Positive at Thrive!

At a special performance of Thrive! on October 29 at Patrick’s Cabaret, Patrick Scully celebrated being very much alive 25 years after discovering he was HIV-positive. In a free-ranging narrative, the consummate storyteller took his audience through a quarter-century of memories and shared history.

Tickles Hosts Halloween Ball Benefit for The Aliveness Project

On October 30, Tickles bar in Downtown Minneapolis hosted a Halloween Ball, with all proceeds benefiting The Aliveness Project. The event got under way with bingo called by Miss “Jennifer North.” A costume contest capped off the festivities. Lucky attendees won more than $5,000 in cash and prize drawings.

NLWSL Teams Compete in ASANA Softball World Series

Four teams from the Northern Lights Women’s Softball League (NLWSL) competed in the Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA) Softball World Series November 1-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NLWSL teams were Restricted Access from Division A; Hot Properties from Division B; and Sweet Nuggets and Cuz We Can from Division D.
