Hailey Performs with Headliner Uh Huh Her at Duluth-Superior Pride Festival

Popular lesbian musician and actress Leisha Hailey performed as part of headliner Uh Huh Her at the Duluth-Superior Pride Festival on September 4 at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, Minnesota. She played Alice Pieszecki in Showtime’s hit The L Word. In 2005, she founded Marfa Records. She was named the sexiest women in the AfterEllen Hot 100 list compiled by AfterEllen.com in 2007.

Twin Cities Black Pride Awards Go to Anderson, Jenkins, and Smith

At the Twin Cities Black Pride (TCBP) Opening Reception & Community Awards on September 9 at the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis, the following individuals were honored: Roxanne Anderson, Diversity and Inclusion Award; Andrea Jenkins, Social Justice and Advocacy Award; and Val Smith, Youth and Families Award. Keynote Speaker was International Federation of Black Prides Executive Director Earl Fowlkes. TCBP Board President Earnest Simpkins participated in the event.
