Lavender Wins Eight MMPA Awards

The Minnesota Maga-zine Publishers Association (MMPA) held its 12th annual Excellence Awards Dinner on November 6. As usual, a Lavender contingent was on hand—along with some 400 other media members—for dining and celebration at the Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom Golden Valley.

This year, awards were given out in 88 categories in areas of editorial, design, general, and overall excellence. Jason DeRusha of WCCO-TV emceed. DeRusha, who covers the “Good Question” segment of the 10 PM News, himself has been nominated for 10 Regional Emmy Awards, and won the 2004 Regional Emmy Award for Ongoing Feature Series.
We have the entire Lavender staff and our contributors to thank for our garnering a record number—eight—awards this year.
