Teen Girls’ Sports Hit, The Wolves, Remounts at the Southern Theater
If you missed last year’s production of The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe’s acclaimed play about girls’ basketball at the Jungle, here’s good news: it is being remounted at the Southern Theater on Washington Ave. for a limited run. You can see the same excellent cast and crew as in 2018, directed by the same person, Sarah Rasmussen. The characters, almost all of whom are the team players, are all known by the numbers on their gear on the court.
Just to be clear, The Wolves runs concurrently with another Jungle production, and another recent acclaimed play, The Children, on the Jungle’s main stage on Lyndale Ave.
McKenna Kelly-Eiding reprises her Wolves role and says, “Getting to play #13 has been the best—I hold her silly, playful, and sometimes foolish spirit very close to my heart. We’re so stoked to be bringing these awesome and ever-evolving women back to life.” Free panel discussions will be hosted after the Friday evening performances.
