Dane Stauffer has made a name for himself nationally as a performer and he continues to do wonderful work locally. But he is also masterful as a director. Stauffer’s gifts are now at play as the director of a Halloween treat: Goosebumps The Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium at SteppingStone Theater. The piece is drawn from the book series by R.L. Stine, adapted for stage by John Maclay and Danny Abosch. Suitable for kids at least seven years of age, as well as adults.

Stauffer shares, “I am very proud of this production, and this stellar cast of young artists. Goosebumps: The Musical is a deceptively tricky score, and these young performers are so skilled, they really handle it with panache. The setting is primarily backstage, and I doubled the size of the cast to add a lot of ensemble parts. One of my main goals in addition to making it ‘Scooby Doo scary’ was to show how fun it is to do theater. I want kids of all ages to see this show and think, ‘That looks so fun! I want to be in the show!’ The show is been generating quite a buzz, and lots of young people are asking if they can audition! I couldn’t be happier. The show closes this week, so I hope people get a chance to see this. We are so pleased.”
