At 12:01 am on Thursday, August 1, Patrick Scully will officiate over a mass wedding ceremony at Patrick’s Cabaret. Free of charge and open to the public, it will celebrate the first legal gay and lesbian weddings in Minnesota. Music, dancing, a minister, and a wedding cake are provided by the cabaret. Just rsvp to [email protected]. Patrick Scully relates “being the master of ceremonies at Patrick’s Cabaret has been the perfect preparation for officiating at weddings. I have done dozens and am really looking forward to celebrating Marriage Equality in Minnesota with a mass wedding. My job is to help things run as smoothly as possible, to help people relax and have a good time. After hundreds (thousands?) of shows, I still love being the emcee, and I don’t get nervous. I’m too busy making sure everyone else is as calm as possible.”
