Sha Cage was named last year’s Best Solo Actor by Lavender for her performance in Grounded for Frank Theatre. At the Guthrie’s Dowling Studio she offers insights on ways people judge the physical bodies women inhabit and the ramifications of that. Titled U/G/L/Y, E.G. Bailey directs with the violin artistry of Kate Pehrson.

Cage explains that “U/G/L/Y takes an interesting approach to examining identity. By highlighting women characters and real life stories from being ridiculed for one’s full features, the importance of finding clarity in one’s uniqueness, and what it feels like to be isolated in a dark reality while the world revolves around you are ways in which this work deals with being an outsider.”
