Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival – Twentieth Year
From February 28 through March 17, the Minneapolis Jewish Film Festival will offer a unique collection of films carefully chosen with an eye for quality and providing something for everyone. The MPLSJFF endeavors to present the best feature films, documentaries and shorts from around the world on themes of Jewish culture and identity. Over 175 films were screened but the Film Review Committee and Film Festival staff, the final choices distilled to form the amazing 2013 program. Minnesota Freedom Band 30th Year Concert
“From Russia with Love” marks the Minnesota Freedom Band’s Thirtieth Anniversary Concert. Be at The Ritz Theatre in Minneapolis for the March 10 Sunday matinee to revel in pieces by the Russian masters: Shostakovich, Borodin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky, Mussorgsky, and Prokofiev. There will be a cash bar and food concession in the front reception area, and a pre-concert social reception at 1:30PM. Greater Tuna’s Coming – Go Fish!
Greater Tuna is a comedy about the third smallest town in Texas and its crazy citizens. Over the course of one day, through the programming at local radio station OKKK, from on-air to sign-off, you meet twenty-one of Tuna’s eccentric citizens, all played by actors Nick Kunz and John Pigate, portraying men, women, children, and animals with over forty-seven costume changes. Shades of Yellow (SOY) – Hmong GLBT
Join in the 9th Annual SOY New Year MasQUEERade and celebrate ten years of SOY, empowering Hmong/Asian Pacific Islander LGBTQ. A nonprofit organization working to provide support, education, advocacy, and leadership development to Hmong LGBTQ, SOY is the only Hmong LGBTQ organization in the world, reaching out online to other Hmong LGBTQ.
