Gay Perspectives Included in “Performative Conversations” about Dads and Sons at Bedlam

Celebrated actor and educator Harry Waters Jr. is in the inner circle of an original technique called “performative conversations”. Along with his son, Jordan, a dancer and choreographer and hip hop/spoken word artist Kevin “Kaoz” Moore, they have been developing AKA: Fathers and Sons for three years. Expect explicit talk about sexuality, sexual identity, and masculinity.
Jordan shares “I love the project, being able to work with my father. It’s a communal piece, bringing together families as well as fathers and sons. Hopefully it’ll be a starting point for building better relationships between fathers and sons – or any sort of relationship. Friends become family and sometimes family becomes friends.”
Harry says “Nobody’s doing what we do. We have seen people change their minds about their dad. What a great opportunity for change to happen. I hope we can travel around the country. Lots of communities need to do this work. We never know what can happen if we don’t try and we are always trying something new.”
