Jeremy Bensussan recently made a strong impression in Patrick Scully’s Leaves of Grass – Uncut at Illusion Theater. But you can see him even more fully reveal his gifts in one of sensual sequences in There Is No Myth at the Southern. It’s part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival, which always features dance performances worth catching. And this one definitely fits that category, and then some.

Bensussan shares “my first encounter with Ms. Hatch was in 2011 at the start of the Minnesota Dance Theatre season. We were working on a brilliant piece of choreographed called La Cathédrale Engloutie by Jiri Kylian. She and I were partnered together and after a couple minutes of working with her I recall my first thought being “wow, she really knows what she is doing.” I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with her for several years now. It wasn’t until There Is No Myth that I discovered that she possesses a great aptitude for choreography. Highly technical work often intimidates me, but working with her -along with other members of the cast- makes me feel comfortable in this demanding work. This is definitely one of my summer highlights as a dancer.”
