FamilyMeans 20th Annual St. Croix Garden Tour
July 14-15, 10:00am

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the FamilyMeans St. Croix Garden Tour, and it’s sure to be the best tour yet. Stretching over two days, July 14 and 15, this year’s tour features eleven of the most impressive gardens that have previously been on the tour. Tom DeGree, Chair of the Garden Tour, notes, “It’s kind of like the ‘Best Of’ tour, and it has a lot of variety.”

One difference between the FamilyMeans Garden Tour and other garden tours is that the homeowners do all the gardening themselves, creating a sense of personal pride in helping beautiful things grow. DeGree adds, “Part of the beauty of the FamilyMeans Garden Tour is the difference between the small Stillwater gardens in historic homes that people really love and, outside the cities, the houses that have large lots. Whatever your garden size, you’ll see something that will work in your garden.”

The FamilyMeans 20th Annual St. Croix Garden Tour will take place on July 14 and 15 in the Stillwater area. Tickets can be purchased for $15 at www.familymeans.org/garden-tour.

Tangletown Gardens’ Garden and Art Tour
July 28th, 9:00am

Tangletown Gardens’ Garden and Art Tour is a whimsical romp through some of the finest gardens in Minneapolis. Local artists also team up with Tangletown to showcase their original work, creating the perfect combination of beauty in nature and beauty in human creativity.

Tour astounding gardens to get ideas for your own projects or just to enjoy the beauty. Wine tastings are provided in the gardens and galleries. After the tour, the community is invited to a celebration at Tangletown Gardens starting at 7:00pm. Local food, drink, and music by Tambuca will be provided. (Tambuca is a pair of djs simultaneously spinning music while live musicians chime in.) Scott Endres, co-owner of Tangletown Gardens, says,“It’s a way of, after a great day of beautiful gardens and spaces, celebrating that we were able to see a great deal of beauty that day. It’s the exclamation point of the community side of the Art and Garden tour.”

The 2012 Garden and Art Tour will take place on July 28th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at Tangletown Gardens or Wise Acre Eatery. Proceeds from the event will benefit local public art and garden projects in the Twin Cities.
