Tim Meyer, Open Arms board president, said, “We are thrilled to bring Tim Reardon on board as the executive director. He has a strong track record of leadership in both fund raising and agency operations, and having worked in and around health and human services his entire career, he also brings a passion for social justice. It’s a dynamic time for Open Arms, and the search committee and board feel Tim is absolutely the right person to take us into the future, while maintaining our commitment to our clients and our core mission. ”
Reardon has twenty years of executive leadership experience, particularly in the areas of health and human services, including ten years of international experience directing the Programa San Francisco de Asis, an organization in Peru that provides cleft palate surgery for children. His latest post was chief executive officer of the Reardon Group, a consultancy that works with local governments and nonprofits to enable leadership to achieve better results with fewer resources.
He has also served as executive director of The Bridge for Youth, a $3.75 million nonprofit dedicated to helping youth in crisis with shelter, support and independent living skills. Reardon brings international experience as well, having spent nearly ten years Reardon commented, “I am delighted and grateful to be working with Open Arms.
I have fallen in love with the Open Arms mission. Having lost a family member to cancer, I know how vital it is to have people in your life that can provide a good meal during a tumultuous time. I’m grateful to all the people who helped me and know how essential this program is to the most vulnerable people in our community.”
