MMPA Awards: Lavender Takes Ten

The Minnesota Magazine & Publishing Association (MMPA) held its annual Excellence Awards on November 1, 2012, and Lavender Media proudly accepted ten awards for elements and pieces of Lavender’s array of products that had been published between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012.  Lavender, as a full-sized glossy magazine with active website, is published every-other-week and is the only GLBT publication in the MMPA.  The competition within the MMPA is hefty; these awards are judged by Lavender’s peers and the other publications are exceptional.  Having submitted thirteen entries, to leave with ten was especially thrilling and it resulted a record-breaking year for our award shelves.  Please take a moment to glance at the masthead on page 6: all of those individuals–and so many additional freelance contributors–are what made these awards happen.  And, not to be understated, Lavender thanks the readers who expect the best.  We will continue to strive for it.
