GayStarNews reports that “Seek McCartney” will become the first gay film to show in Chinese theaters later this year.
Director Wang Chao applauded the decision of the censors to allow the film to be shown in its entirety after a year was spent in deliberating over the Chinese/French co-produced feature which stars popular singer Han Geng and acclaimed actor Jérémie Elkaïm.
It was only in 2010 that Chinese media watchdogs removed homosexuality from its list of content that is considered to be pornographic and vulgar.
