Non-heterosexual Men As Likely to Have Served in U.S. Military As Straight Men

What percentage of people in the U.S. military are gay or bisexual, and are gay/bisexual folks less likely to serve than straight folks? Given traditionally hostile attitudes toward non-heterosexuals in the army, followed by almost two decades of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (from 1994 to 2010), these numbers have eluded investigators and policy makers for years.
