University of Minnesota Hosts Lavender Celebration and Awards Ceremony
For the past 13 years, the University of Minnesota has honored the accomplishments of GLBT and allied students, staff, faculty, and community members across all five of its campuses. On April 30, it hosted the Lavender Celebration and Awards Ceremony (formerly known as the Lavender Graduation) at McNamara Alumni Center. It was an opportunity to recognize the cumulative accomplishments of students and scholars over the past year. All students graduating during the fall, spring, or summer terms in the past academic year were invited to participate. During the ceremony, the GLBT Studies Awards for Excellence, GLBTA Student Scholarships, Breaking the Silence Awards, and new GLBTA Student Leadership Awards were handed out.
